Thesis’ recap of his experience and the event. “Winning HHI was a interesting win. Battling with both of my crews at once (KH, MM) was super fresh and felt good to be a bridge of such a good vibe. This being my first one and not really sure what to expect, I was caught of caught of guard by the caliber of who organizes it of the importance of the jam. 41 nations all in one building was truly a blessing to be apart of. We battled a crew from Trinidad, one from Germany, the Full Force from Vegas and then a Boston crew who had Flex Bebo and Jet on their squad. Being the winners we had to perform on the big stage the next day in front of thousands of people and we killed it! HHI is definitely a event to go to while its still here.”

Lease Signed at The Beacon!
We have exciting news to share! With the help of Shunpike and our Kickstarter Supporters, Massive Monkees just signed lease into The Beacon at our current location!!! WooHoo!!! This mean renovations of the space can start immediately. The plan is to complete build out in phases that allow us to continue to provide classes while these renovations take place. You should expect to see sound insulation installed allowing a broader range of classes and hours of operation, safety partitions to help ensure the safety of out MiniBreaks Kids. As well, the addition of a kitchenette and office space towards the rear of the building. Lastly, we will be installing heat and ventilation to keep you all cozy and warm this winter when the weather changes. This is huge step and very very exciting. Again we want to thank all of our Kickstarter Supporters dearly for making this possible!

Celebrate the end of summer by JOINING US for Massive Monkees Studio: The Beacon’s FIRST student recital on Sunday, August 25th!
Our students have been working hard since we opened earlier this year – we think it’s time for them to showcase what they’ve learned and SHINE BRIGHT IN THE SPOTLIGHT!
We’ll be featuring performances from the following Beacon classes:
– “Boogie Down Breaks: Kids Breakin’ and Funk Styles Dance Class”
– “Foundation”
– “Locking Fundamentals”
– “Keep It Poppin'”
– “Mini BREAKS: The Original Hip-Hop Dance Class For Toddlers + Preschoolers”

Admission cost for “Student Summer Showcase 2013” is as follows: Children ages 10 and under are free! One free guest per performing student. All others = $5/ea.
