All Drop-In Classes are $20/class unless otherwise noted.

Unlimited Teen/Adult class membership – $100/Month: Enjoy as many classes as you want and save money with this monthly membership.

KIDS DROP-IN CLASSES:

Mini BREAKS w/ Anna Banana Freeze (Ages 2-6)

Mini BREAKS is a fun and safe breaking (“break dance”) class w/ Anna Banana Freeze for children ages 2-6 years old. Students are introduced to authentic breaking moves, concepts and music. This class encourages students to be and express themselves, try new things and have fun! NOTE: Parents or guardians must stay with their child during class.

Kids Beginner Breaking w/ Bgirl Sacred Fire (Ages 6-12)

Kids will be introduced to breaking movements.  The benefits of taking this class are increased motor skills, flexibility, balance, rhythm, memory and strength while having fun, playing games and making new friends!

Kids Funky Styles w/ Lockstatic (All levels – Ages 6-12)

In this class we will learn basic to intermediate patterns and combinations. This class will also focus on developing and improving our locking abilities, while focusing on playing with rhythm patterns and having fun in our freestyle.

KIDS PROGRESSIVE CLASSES:

These classes are offered on a quarterly basis. Registration and enrollment for the entire quarter is required. Tuition for Winter Quarter is $200 for 12 classes.

Kids Beginner Breaking w/ Rokhus & Seansteady (Ages 6-8)

This progressive class is for 12 consecutive weeks from January 10th – March 28th. Kids will learn the basics of Toprocking, Footworks, Freezes, and basic power moves while experiencing with freestyles and cyphers.

Kids Beginner Breaking w/ Brysen (Ages 9-13)

This progressive class is for 12 consecutive weeks from January 10th – March 28th. Kids will learn the basics of Toprocking, Footworks, Freezes, and basic power moves while experiencing with freestyles and cyphers.

TEEN/ADULT DROP-IN CLASSES:

Breaking w/ Naj (All levels)

Students will learn and drill the foundation of Breaking; Top Rocks, Drops, Footwork and Freezes.

Popping w/ Chris Kaku (All levels)

Students will learn basic footwork like twists, floats, glides, slides and walks.  In addition, Chris will teach students how to add these moves to basic boogaloo movements like rolls, walk outs and twist-o’s.

House + Soul City Open session w/ Orb (All levels)

House is a social dance primarily danced to House music that has roots in the Chicago and New York clubs. The main elements of House include Footwork, Jacking and Lofting. House dance is influenced by many cultures and styles, is improvisational in nature and emphasizes fast and complex footwork with fluid movements in the torso, as well as floor work.

In this class we will drill basic House vocabulary, play with rhythm, vibe off each other in the cypher, and learn choreography. Each class is followed by a 2 hour open session to practice moves with other students. (Open session is complementary for class attendees)

Hip Hop Choreo w/ Justice (All levels)

Hip Hop Choreo is a technique and choreography class that infuses elements of hip hop, lyrical and jazz into choreographed performance-level routines.  Students will learn the fundamentals of each style, focusing on coordination, syncopation, isolations, and exploring choreography that combines street dance with funk, jazz and a whole lot of personal style.

Waacking w/ Tracey (All levels)

Waacking is a club-style dance originating from LA’s underground disco scene in the 70s by the Black and Latinx gay community.  The movement consists of moving one’s arms to the beat to highlight sounds that the audience normally would not hear.  With arm movements being a huge part of waacking, there are also elements of punking (acting and taking on different characters), as well as posing.  It is a style that is inspired by black & white films and tv series such as Batman, King King, Looney Tunes, Star Wars, Bruce Lee.

In this class, you will learn about the history of this style, basic to complex arm patterns, posing, punking, how to travel, and fun grooves with Tracey!  Tracey builds community for her students and provides a safe space for you to reach your full potential and to express your own individuality.  All the foundation learned will be used in class for fun freestyling exercises!

Locking w/ LockStatic (All levels)

In this class we will drill the vocabulary of locking and learn basic to intermediate patterns and combinations. This class will also focus on the soul dances that influence and improve our locking abilities, while focusing on playing with rhythm patterns and having fun in our freestyle.

Rocking w/ Goody Roc (Intro to Basics)

Rocking (or Uprocking) is a competitive battle dance from the streets of NYC. This Rocking class will be an introduction to the basic elements of the dance, including Freestyle, Jerks and Drops, Burns and Blocks, Storytelling, and Musicality. Class will have a focus on Brooklyn style and encouragement to explore the foundation through creativity and being yourself. Goody Roc hails from Brooklyn, NY representing Mastermind Rockers.

OPEN PRACTICE SESSION

Join us for our Breaking open sessions! Share the studio space with other dancers to practice moves and movement.  Open practice provides an open space and music with no instructor. Practice your moves, cypher with friends, and have fun with the community!

$5/session or get a $20/month membership to access any Breaking open session!
